Saturday afternoon we went to Tanner's friend's wedding in Cragsmoor. The church was at the top of a hill and had the most incredible view of the surrounding mountains and valleys. It was the best location for a wedding. The weather was beautiful that day as well. As we were leaving the church Tanner played Superman and helped get a van out of a ditch they had parked in. Their front right tire was on top of a drain pipe. It attracted quite a crowd, mostly of people who had no idea what to do, but Tanner and a few others were able to get it out. So much excitement that afternoon! The reception was in another town and was absolutely the cutest tea party I'd ever seen. Because it was an afternoon wedding there weren't any big dishes but instead there were scones, muffins, cookies, quishes, and tea sandwiches. There were also floral tea cups and saucers at every seat and the bride told us there were plenty for people to take home. I didn't need telling twice! Before we left I grabbed six tea cups with saucers and she also gave us a bottle of champagne. It was wonderful. Once we got back to Tanner's house we left for Purchase College because his band had a show there later. I was able to meet up with my friends and we had a great time catching up.
The environment at the show was a little strange, especially because Tanner's band is electric. Earlier in the evening there was an Indian themed dinner and so there were a bunch of tables in the room and acoustic music playing before they went on but it turned out to be a great show. We stayed much longer than we should have, spending time with friends and we didn't get back to Middletown until very early in the morning. Again, we got very little sleep before leaving at 8:30 but at least the weather didn't bring us down.
Around mid day we figured we had some time to kill and realized that my friend's school was very close so we called her and stopped by for a visit. It was the perfect little visit within a visit and a nice way to break up the long ride back to Maine.
