new treasures

I forgot to mention all of the new treasures we acquired this weekend! First, Tanner's parents gave us a beautiful set of dishes they'd had for years and hadn't really used. We have dinner and salad plates, cups and saucers, a sugar and creamer container, and a serving bowl, all in sets of eight except for the last three items. I guess they could be classified as "country chic." They have adorable geese on them with blue ribbons. I'm excited to use them!

At the wedding we went to on Saturday there was a piece of wood cut into the shape of a tea pot and painted with chalkboard paint that I took and it's now hanging on our wall by the fridge. It's so cute. And then at the Indian dinner before Tanner's show there was a mesh candle holder shaped like a genie lamp that was a center piece that I took also. And a beige hand held fan and then a metallic gold waning moon made of foam poster board. We put that on the ceiling above our bed.

Tanner and I were very productive this afternoon, especially considering how rainy and miserable the weather was and still is. We did a few businessy errands and then went to Lowe's and got supplies for our garden; I'm so excited! When Tanner's at work tomorrow I think I'll start tilling the ground if it isn't too wet still. We also picked up a towel ring for the bathroom and, finally, a toilet paper holder. Then we went to the Dollar Store and picked up some chalk for our little board and a wooden Jenga like game for Tanner along with a plastic gun that came with targets.

This evening Tanner installed our bathroom things while I attempted to make banana bread for the first time in my life. Unfortunately it was one of the recipes I forgot to copy from my mom before I left so I looked a simple recipe online and found this. We haven't eaten it yet but it smells delicious!
