Today was a very grown up day for me and Tanner. He reached out to Trader Joe's and was hired. We went to city hall and paid our excise tax even though we're still a little unsure what it is. Then we went back to the BMV and Tanner got his license while I got new plates, a license, and changed my registration. Woah. And expensive. But now we're officially Maine residents. I got the lobster license plates because, why not? Now Betty's bum is even more colorful.
After a late lunch we went on a hunt for a TV stand with shelves and possibly cupboards for hiding Tanner's many controllers and games. We had some luck and eventually found a great place in South Portland that we'll check out tomorrow when they're open. While there Tanner climbed his two trees (one for yesterday and one for today) in this cute little park across from the Hannafords. There was a small pond with an assortment of birds and a gazebo, too. Under a couple of the trees we found miniature twig houses and lean to's. I should have taken pictures, they were very cute.
