We had a late start today but who knows how long we'll be able to laze around for hours while the city goes to work. We made a quick trip to the DMV (here it's called the BMV) but learned we had much to do before changing everything over and so we'll go to Town Hall tomorrow and then back to the BMV to become Maine drivers!
So instead of being adults we drove a little south to Cape Elizabeth and Tanner threw back some unfinished sea glass back into the water and I took a few pictures. It was a tiny beach area and very rocky, almost like small cliffs, on either side. It was cloudy but the sun peeked through and made the water very blue and sparkly. It was a beautiful scene.
Just off the beach was a little restaurant called The Lobster Shack where Tanner ate his first lobster! We shared a lobster dinner, which was plenty, and had a great and messy time. The view was incredible. We decided that sometime this summer we'll go back to watch the sun rise over the Atlantic Ocean. It will be almost as cold as beautiful.
Then afterwards we went into South Portland to watch Titanic in 3D. I think we both had a good time. The movie definitely wasn't made for 3D viewing but there were some great (and scary) scenes where it worked. We also talked a lot. We may have been a bit obnoxious but there weren't too many people there anyways.
When we got back to the apartment I saw a cat lurking around my car and I asked Tanner if we could stop to look for it. We eventually found the cat who was very tiny, dark colored and so fluffy. We kept calling it over and it got a little closer then backed off. When we inside to get some granola to crunch up for it, the cat came closer to our door but we scared it off when we went back out. It ran across the street and I've been calling for it every now and then. I guess it's for the best; I'd probably get too attached anyway.
I wanted to post some pictures of the blanket I finished crocheting last week. It's huge and I'm really happy with the way it turned out, even though it's bunchy in places and then really loose. Oh well. I had to start somewhere.
